You can use Shop to advocate for product listings across banners!
For All Shop Users - Did You Know?
If your product is already listed in one retailer banner and you're aiming to get it listed in another, here’s a simple 3-step strategy using Shop reports:
Step 1: Build Custom Product Groups
Create a focus group for the products you want to push into the second banner. Then, build comparison groups:
- The rest of your brand
- Competing brands in the category
Super User Tip: You can export Standard Attributes (including brand, health attributes, and other product characteristics) to quickly build your custom groups by brand. It’s a huge time-saver!
Step 2: Use the Performance in Detail Report
Compare how your focus group performs in the benchmark banner (where it’s already listed) vs. other brands.
- Look at the latest 52 weeks for a broad view
- Or set up a before/after listing view to show impact over time
Winning Argument: If your focus group is overperforming vs. other brands, that’s a strong case for listing it in the second banner!
Step 3: Dive into the Switching Report
See where your sales are coming from in the benchmark banner:
- Are you attracting new buyers to the category?
- Are you converting existing buyers from other brands?
Winning Argument: If your focus group is pulling sales from a less profitable brand or bringing new customers into the category, and not cannibalizing private label, you’ve got a compelling story to tell.
Why it matters: This combo of custom product groups + performance + switching insights
helps you build a data-backed, retailer-relevant case for expanding your listings. It’s smart, strategic, and easy to do!
